The dramatic increase in the efficiency of experimental methods in the life sciences resulted in an enormous amount of data. The research focus "Computational Life Sciences" aims at a clustering of the numerous activities related to the development and application of information technology in the life sciences. It also promotes inter- and transdisciplinary activities to establish new methods and technologies.
